The Titanic has remained a continued fascination of human thought for over 100 years. The event acts as a cautionary tale about the futility of human hubris against nature. Not only is this demonstrated in the ship's quest for size and speed but it's class systems that ambitiously separate humans who would all come to the same disastrous fate.
Titanic: The Musical is a story of class and the eventual reckoning with reality, we are all human. While there is a great deal of negativity for the greed involved with hubris, there is an underscoring of admiration in the musical for the human spirit. Innovation can lead to great terrors but has possibilities to change our world for the good and the musical captures the hopes and dreams of all passengers regardless of class.
The world is full of dichotomies: rich and poor, innovation and history, industry and culture, the living and the dead but for a brief moment through Titanic: The Musical we can see time stand still and brave people decide to fight for each other regardless of their differences.
